Distribution Postal Company

Distribution Postal Company (DPC) conducts business within the International Mail and Express Industry. The industry was developed in the 1980’s as a result of the introduction of United States Postal Service work sharing programs and the elimination of the outbound postal monopoly that governed competition in the international mail and express industry. Prior to 1986, international mailers were required by U.S. Law to use the USPS for distribution of mail and parcels from the United States. Many international mailers in an effort to reduce distribution costs began exporting their publications by bulk freight to Europe and have companies such as KLM Airlines, TNT, and DHL process their mail abroad in an effort to reduce costs. The United States Postal Service responded by offering work sharing. These programs allowed mailers who were willing to prepare shipments in accordance to issued guidelines (applying postal markings, country sorting, and tendering shipments to specific USPS postal facilities) to achieve up to 30% off published over the counter rates.

Louis Haber Sr founded Distribution Postal Consultants in the early 1980’s. Mr. Haber Sr. was the traffic manager for Waverly Press/Williams & Wilkens, among the nations premiere medical publishers and printers at the time. After being layed off because the prevailing economic slow down of the early 1980’s, Mr. Haber was retained as independent consultant six months later at the request of the executive management at Williams & Wilkens. Mr. Haber Sr. proposed and presented a costs savings model to Williams & Wilkens. At the request of Mr. Haber Sr. to facilitate the implementation of the working model, the Passano Family Executive Management team gave their blessing and Distribution Postal Consultants was subsequently formed and maintained a 15 year close working relationship until the purchase of Williams & Wilkens and the transfer of Capital, Human Resources, and Operations out of the Baltimore Market Place in the latter 1990s.

Today Distribution Postal Company offers three distinct service offerings that include data services, mail processing, and distribution logistics. DPC has over 25 years experience in providing data services and mail processing/distribution. Our Target Market is Government and Non Governmental Organizations located primarily in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic corridor. DPC profile’s clients and prefer serving organizations that are forward thinking in methodology, well managed with a multi-national focus, and have the institutional vision to grow in scope. DPC does not advertise nor do we have an active sales force.

Distribution Postal Company is under the executive leadership of Louis F Haber Jr. and Mary R. Barkley-Deshields. DPC is privately held under the Haber and Barkley-Deshields’ Family Stock Trusts. DPC’s management has right-sized the company to engineer our company’s services to the needs of our dynamic corporate, governmental, and non-governmental client base.
